Everything about this pie is right. The crust is golden and flaky, the filling is hearty and full of proper bourguignon flavour, and it heats up in minutes. We had this on a stormy February evening and it was genuinely the highlight of the week.
The first time I had this I thought it might be a fluke. The second confirmed it. By the third order I had accepted this is simply the best pie available in the UK. Phenomenal filling, phenomenal pastry, phenomenal all round.
Bought this on a cold Tuesday and it turned the whole evening around. The filling is incredibly rich and satisfying — proper slow-braised beef with a sauce that coats everything beautifully. The pastry crisped up golden in the oven. This is pie done right.
Fifth time buying this and it never disappoints. Consistent quality, brilliant flavour, and it always looks and smells amazing out of the oven. One of the best things in the Mud Foods range.
This is a solid, well-made pie and I enjoyed it. The filling is tasty and the pastry is decent. I was hoping to be completely wowed given the price point, but it is a good product and I would still recommend it to someone looking for quality convenience food.
